The levels of RANKL (a), OPG (b), and RANKL/OPG ratio (c) in PL cell cultures upon stimulation with IL-33. Periapical lesion (PL) cells were isolated from 12 PLs and cultivated for 24 hours with 1 ng/ml or 30 ng/ml of IL-33 as described in “Materials and Methods.” The levels of soluble RANKL and OPG in supernatants were measured by ELISA, and after that, the RANKL/OPG ratio was calculated.
