Systemic Effects Induced by Hyperoxia in a Preclinical Model of Intra-abdominal Sepsis

Neutrophils and total protein content in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) from septic rats. Animals underwent cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) and were treated for 24 h with 21% (medical air), 40%, 60%, or 100% oxygen. No significant differences were found among groups (by Mann–Whitney test with Bonferroni correction).
