AREG increased the proinflammatory cytokines in HepG2 cells. HepG2 cells were treated with different concentrations of AREG (25–100 ng/mL) for 24 hr. (a) Secretion of IL-8 was determined in cell culture media from HepG2 cells treated with AREG. (b) The mRNA levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 were measured by real-time PCR compared to the control conditions (Con; no drug).
