Embryonic Stem Cell-Derived Cardiomyocyte Heterogeneity and the Isolation of Immature and Committed Cells for Cardiac Remodeling and Regeneration
Figure 3
Image analysis of immature syNP4-derived cardiomyocytes injected into heart. (a, b) Representative longitudinal bioluminescence imaging (BLI) of athymic nude mice following intramyocardial transplantation of syNP4-derived CMs stably expressing a firefly luciferase reporter construct. The images shown in (a) involved CMs isolated at day 11 in culture, while those shown in (b) involved CMs isolated at day 18. (c) Analysis of BLI data from two sets of ESC-CMs shows a robust cardiac signal on day1, which decreases substantially in the first week, achieves a plateau from days 7 to 21, and then declines at 1 month, whereas those cells, which are slightly more mature, have minimal signals within 7 days of injection.
