Noncanonical Wnt5a signalling: a simplified view. Wnt5a ligand binds to one of the seven transmembrane receptors of the Fzd family and results in Wnt/Ca2+ pathway or Wnt/JNK pathway activities. Previously, Wnt/Ca2+ pathway was already studied for other groups [27, 28]. Here, we demonstrate that Wnt5a upregulates ERK and phosphor-JNK signalling and activates the neural differentiation of hADSCs.
