Induction of proteins associated with thermogenesis by cold and IL-4. Precursors were obtained and differentiated as described in Materials and Methods. Cells were treated with BSA alone (vehicle) or IL-4 and incubated at 37°C or 31°C for 6 h. (a) PGC-1α and adiponectin protein expression were determined by Western blotting of cell lysates. (b).
