The electrophysiological differences between NSCs and neurons. Compared to mature functional neurons, NSCs exhibit a higher RMP and a lower Rin due to shortage of Kir; moreover, it is not easy for NSCs to generate AP because of a lack of VGSCs. VGCCs, mostly functional L-type and LGCC, are probably the main roles in modulating intracellular Ca2+ concentration especially L-type VGCCs, Ca2+-dependent K+ channel SK3 abundantly expressed in NSCs is responsible for the migration and proliferation.
