Generation of neural progenitor cells and stem cell division within neurospheres incubated with BrdU (10 μM) in NSC medium for 24 h on glass coverslips. Mitotic cells were indicated by BrdU incorporation (green). Cell nuclei were stained blue by DAPI. Neural progenitor cell markers could be identified and were stained red. Atoh1 was detected in the nucleus, whereas Sox-2, Nestin, and doublecortin (DCX) showed staining in the somata of the cells.
